A plan to protect the Watershed
In 2024, the Blue Sea Lake Watershed Association, along with the municipalities of Blue Sea and Messines engaged the services of RAPPEL, an environmental services Coop, to prepare a comprehensive Watershed Protection Plan (“Plan driecteur de l’eau”) to help us determine what to do to ensure the health of the watershed now and into the future. The Plan was completed in July 2025. It assembles and analysis the latest data on the Watershed and provides a long list of actions from which to choose. The main products of the Plan comprise:
- An environmental portait of Blue Sea Lake and the Watershed
- A comprehensive final Report.
- English Summary of Report (Summary and Findings)
- A list of priority actions that flow from the analysis
The Plan updates previous studies carried out by the Association and will provide a solid foundation from which to guide futue decisions. The Association and the Municipalities will form a joint planning committee to implement the plan and decide on future initiatives drawing from its analysis.
